Thousands of Children and Women Are Being Murdered
Gaza is the scene of suffering that hurts the conscience of humanity more and more every day. A nation is being subjected to unprecedented oppression in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem and all other cities of Palestine, a nation is being completely destroyed and subjected to genocide. So far, 30 thousand innocent civilians, mostly children and women, have been killed by Israel. People of all ages in the region are prevented from accessing their most basic needs, especially water, food and medicine. Gaza was burned to the ground, hospitals, schools and places of worship were destroyed before the eyes of the whole world. Hundreds of people who were injured in the ongoing intense bombardments and took shelter in hospitals, had their hopes of survival taken away from them as the hospitals were bombed, and newborn babies were killed without mercy.
It is a Continuation and a New Dimension of the Nakba
All this is clearly genocide. Israel ignores the instructions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to take very clear steps to prevent genocide from occurring in Gaza. It is clear that the Israeli who continues the attacks against Palestinians believes that international rules do not apply to him.
Israel’s massacre of Gazans, as well as its attempt to displace them, is a continuation and a new dimension of the Nakba (Catastrophe), in which more than 750 thousand Palestinians were expelled from their homes in 1948, when the State of Israel was established.
They do not deny the massacres they committed
According to international law, the crime of genocide is defined by “the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.” Israel has repeatedly stated, from the most authoritative voices and loudly, that its intention is genocide in its deadly attack on Gaza. For example, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant: “We are imposing a complete siege on Gaza. No electricity, food, water, fuel. All closed. “We are fighting against humanoid animals, we will act accordingly and kill them all,” he said.
The Israeli terrorist state has so far dropped more than 60 bombs per day with high destructive power on Gaza, one of the most densely populated regions of the world. Human Rights Watch confirmed that the weapons used included phosphorus bombs, which set fire to bodies and buildings and created flames that did not go out on contact with water. In flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, Israel continued its 16-year siege of Gaza, the longest siege in modern history, by killing and starving innocents. It continues its plan of systematic destruction by leaving the country alone, cutting off water supplies and bombing its hospitals, before the eyes of the whole world.
Israel’s aim is clearly to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza. Unfortunately, while most of the world’s states ignore this genocide, some are content to just watch. A few states, such as Turkey, can loudly point out the genocide to Israel and its minions.
This Genocide Should Be Included in Textbooks
This brutality and the genocide committed by Israel should never be forgotten and must be passed on to future generations. For this, all kinds of arguments within the conditions of our age should be used. One of the most important of these should be to explain this brutality to our children, who are the owners of our future. This genocide must be included in textbooks. We should not make the same mistake of conveying the genocidal crimes committed by the West to our children with misleading titles such as ‘European colonialism’ for many years, for the Israeli genocide. All the genocide crimes of the Western world, especially this genocide crime committed by Israel in front of the world, should be explained to our children in bold print and through pedagogical methods.
As an association, we demand that the killing, rape, theft, plunder and exile that Israel has been carrying out in Palestine for years be included in the textbooks as GENOCIDE. We have full faith that our Ministry of National Education will implement this in a very short time.
